​The Moipu 245EC energy head is designed for professional and continuous use. It is lightweight (350 kg) yet durable and robust with low operating costs and low maintenance costs. Thanks to the knives cut, work is not interrupted due to chain or flange change. Even in the most challenging conditions, the cutting blades last about 1000 operating hours. For maintenance, it is enough to sharpen the blades. Replacing blades at the end of their service life is very easy and quick thanks to bolt fastening.

The Moipu 245EC head  is designed for efficient energy wood harvesting when speed and reliability are needed. It can be used for small thinnings, cleaning roadsides and field edges, and removing scrub.

With the Moipu 245EC energy head you can cut, accumulate and load, without having to change the grapple between work phases. Blades on the delimbing knives and tilt enable vertical pruning.

The Moipu 245EC head is ideal for energy wood operations with dense brush, small trees and scrub. Fast and reliable knives cut the trunk of a tree up to 25 cm in diameter with a single cut and even larger bundles of light brush.

The Moipu 245EC energy head is equipped with Multi Tree Handling pliers (MTH), which allow several tree trunks to be accumulated simultaneously in one handful. As a result, work is done faster and unnecessary back and forth movements - and therefore fuel costs - are reduced. Damage to standing trees can also be avoided by reducing movement.

Thanks to the strong tilt and MTH pliers that support the trees in an upright position, allow stable and controlled handling of bundles during thinning. The grapple is safe to use even in demanding places. The strong tilt and large opening of the delimbing blades also allow for efficient loading, so you can do all the necessary work steps with the same tool.

Energy wood head for tractors, harvesters and forwarders

The Moipu 245EC energy head is suitable for installation on small harvesters, forwarders, large tractors and even small excavators. For installation, the shear needs a boom cable and control system, as well as pressure and return lines. The required oil flow is 80-160 l/min. The higher the oil flow, the more power you can get out of the shear.

The easiest installation is on a harvester with hose and control system ready. When installing the harvester, the control module of the original machine is installed in the Moipu head.  

When installing on tractors and excavators, pressure and return lines must be drawn to the shear along the boom. Also, a protective hose for the electric cable is required. The excavator also needs a control system for the head, which can be the Moipu Control system that includes everything needed for installation.

The forwarder requires the most from installation, but when done properly, the forwarder becomes an efficient unit for harvesting small trees. Like an excavator, forwarders also need hoses and a control system. In addition, changes must be made to the load space for the machine to function well during thinning. These include sliding bunks and a foldable headboard, allowing reverse travel along the thinning trail. The bunks should be made sliding and the screen folding. With these changes, you can make driving tracks by reversing. When the driving track is done, set up the screen and put the bunks in place and you can start filling the load space.

A forwarder equipped with an energy head can handle many small-scale sites, such as small thinnings, trim roadsides and edges of fields. With Moipu energy wood head, you can do all the necessary work steps - so to speak, from stump to pile – cut accumulate and load.

Stump treatment ​

A stump treatment device is available as an accessory for the Moipu harvesting heads. The device can also be retrofitted. The stump treatment device includes nozzles with hoses, on both sides of the head in connection with the cutting blades.

The stump treatment device is controlled by the measuring device of the base machine. The spraying works automatically in connection with the heads cutting function. The nozzles spray the pesticide simultaneously, which spreads it evenly on the stump.

The prerequisite for the stump treatment device to function is that the machine has a tank for the stump treatment agent, a pump and a hose connection to the head.
