The Moipu 315 EC energy head is designed for professional and continuous use. It weighs only 485 kg, yet remains highly durable and robust with low operating costs and low maintenance costs. Thanks to the knives cut, work is not interrupted due to chain or flange change. Even in the most challenging conditions, the cutting blades last about 1000 operating hours. For maintenance, it is enough to sharpen the blades. Replacing blades at the end of their service life is very easy and quick thanks to bolt fastening.

The Moipu 315 EC head  is designed for efficient energy wood harvesting when speed and reliability are needed. It can be used for small thinnings, cleaning roadsides and field edges, and removing scrub.

With the Moipu 315 EC energy head you can cut, accumulate and load, without having to change the grapple between work phases. Blades on the delimbing knives and tilt enable vertical pruning.

properties of the Energy Wood head

The Moipu 315 EC head is ideal for energy wood operations with dense brush, small trees and scrub. Fast and reliable knives cut the trunk of a tree up to 31 cm in diameter with a single cut and even larger bundles of light brush.

The Moipu 315 EC energy head is equipped with Multi Tree Handling pliers (MTH), which allow several tree trunks to be accumulated simultaneously in one handful. As a result, work is done faster and unnecessary back and forth movements - and therefore fuel costs - are reduced. Damage to standing trees can also be avoided by reducing movement.

Thanks to the MTH arms, the work can be further accelerated by being able to more trees at once. The arms also support the trees from above, allowing the bundle to stay upright better and work more stable.  With the help of strong tilt, you can maneuver bundles of trees and avoid damages to remaining trees.

PROFITABLE HARVESTING ​WITH MOIPU 315EC ENERGY WOOD HEAD

The Moipu 315 EC head is a very cost-effective head for energy wood thinnings. Even in the most challenging conditions, the cutting blades last about 1000 hours. The head is designed to withstand continuous and professional use. Compared to a traditional harvester head, the 315 EC head has very low operating costs. Low costs and low maintenance requirements ensure profitable energy harvesting.

Energy wood head for harvesters, forwarders AND EXCAVATORS

​The 315 EC can be installed on harvesters, excavators and medium-sized forwarders. The head needs a boom cable and a control system. You will need pressure and return lines for head installation. With a higher oil flow, you can get the most power out of the head.

Easiest is to install the head to harvesters, which already have hoses and control system ready. When you install the head to a harvester you will need original harvester head module.

When installing the head to an excavator, you will need to install pressure, return  and overflow hydraulic lines to the boom. In addition to these, you will need also a protection hose for the electric cable.  The excavator also needs a control system for the head. Moipu control system provides everything needed for the control of the head and installation.

​Forwarder demands the most from the installation, but when the installation is made properly, you will get a really cost-efficient unit for small wood harvesting. Like in the excavator the forwarder needs hoses installed to the boom and a control system. In addition to these loading space should be altered for best outcome in thinnings. Bunks should be made sliding and guard screen tilting. With these alterations you can do forest roads reversing. When the road is finnished tilt the guard screen up and slide the bunks back and you are ready to fill up the loading space.

stump treatment

A stump treatment device is available as an accessory for the Moipu harvesting heads. The device can also be retrofitted. The stump treatment device includes nozzles with hoses, on both sides of the head in connection with the cutting blades.

The stump treatment device is controlled by the measuring device of the base machine. The spraying works automatically in connection with the heads cutting function. The nozzles spray the pesticide simultaneously, which spreads it evenly on the stump.

The prerequisite for the stump treatment device to function is that the machine has a tank for the stump treatment agent, a pump and a hose connection to the head.
