POWERFUL SHEAR FOR EXCAVATORS

The Moipu 4500EFI is equipped with two high-performance cutting blades designed to ensure a controlled and accurate cut. The blades sink in the wood with great force, leading with the blade’s angle and pressing the tree against the grapple’s frame.

For smaller trees, the system operates at higher speed with moderate force, optimizing cycle time. For larger trees, the blades automatically reduce speed while increasing cutting power, enabling the 4500EFI to process trees up to 45 cm in diameter in a single cut.

Even in the most challenging conditions, the cutting blades last about 1000 operating hours. For maintenance, it is enough to sharpen the blades. Replacing blades at the end of their service life is very easy and quick thanks to bolt fastening.

SIMPLE INSTALLATION AND OPERATION LOGIC

Moipu EFI (electric free installation) heads operate without electricity. The head works on grapple open/grapple close lines. Assembly is easy and fast. Just attach the head to the excavators' quick coupler and attach two hoses. Recommended hydraulic pressure and flow for the head are 200-250 bar and 100-120 l/min.

The operating logic of the head is build around the hydraulic block. Once you press the grapple closed -button, the grapples first move towards closing. As the pressure increases, the cutting blades begin closing. When the tree has been cut, you press grapple open -button. Blades open first completely, and after that the grapple jaws.

Moipu 4500EFI head can be equipped with an optional Multi-Tree Handling (MTH) feature, which enhances efficiency in energy wood harvesting. When head is equipped with the MTH system, it will process automatically after the cut.

With the MTH, you can gather more trees at once, making loading faster and more productive. Also the MTH arms provide additional support from above, keeping the tree bundle upright and stable for smoother and more controlled operation. This results in steadier handling even in dense stands or uneven terrain, improving both productivity and safety.

The heads operating logic ensures safe and controlled handling of trees. The grapple jaws always maintain a firm grip on the tree, preventing it from falling uncontrollably at any stage. A wide opening of up to 130 cm also allows for easy handling of large trees or tree bundles.

Thanks to its spark-free cutting, the 4500 EFI shear is particularly suitable for areas with a high risk of forest fires as well as other demanding conditions, such as disaster zones.

The slewing drive allows the head to rotate freely 360 degrees, enabling you to position it exactly as you need. This feature makes it possible to work on slopes and to cut branches or treetops of problem trees with ease.
