​Compared to a multipurpose machine, the chain of a harvester and forwarder is a big and expensive investment that ties up a lot of resources and requires large contracts to be profitable. A forwarder equipped with head on the other hand, is a cost-efficient choice that can handle many smaller sites, such as small thinning and cleaning roadsides and field edges. The maintenance and transferring costs of one machine also remain reasonable, which means that the prices of even small contracts are competitive and profitable for the contractor.

There’s nothing preventing the forwarder from being part of the harvesting chain in larger contracts. The greatest advantage of a forwarder equipped with a head is its versatility: it enables year-round work, regardless of contract size.

Installing the energy head or felling head on the forwarder


​The most important feature required from a forwarder is that the crane capacity is sufficient to lift the weight of the head and the cut tree so that the combination remains stable. This is greatly affected by the size of the forwarder and the type of use you are mainly planning it for.
