Powerful grapple saw ​for professional use​

​​Moipu S550 RC grapple saw is designed for professional use, problem tree removal or energy wood harvesting. The grapple can be used to cut down even large trees efficiently and safely, up to 63 cm.

Moipu S550 RC grapple saw is designed to be installed on an excavator or harvester, but with small additions it is also suitable for installation on other machines.

Basically, the grapple can be installed on any crane, as long as it can lift the grapple, and the stability of the machine remains good even if the grapple is used with the maximum boom reach. To work efficiently, the grapple requires a lot of oil (120-170 l/min). 

Most often, the grapple is installed either on an excavator or on a harvester. The grapple can also be installed on the forwarder if the hydraulic lines of the forwarder are converted to a higher oil flow. When installed on an excavator or forwarder, a radio control system (RC) is supplied with the grapple.  Radio control enables easy installation and precise grapple control.

If the grapple is installed on the harvester, the harvester's own measuring device is used to control the grapple. In this case, a module of the harvester's measuring device is installed on the Moipu S550 grapple and an electrical cable is placed on the grapple.

Using the grapple is easy. Each movement is controlled with separate button, so every move happens exactly when you want to. If multi tree handling -pliers are selected (option), there is automatics in both Radio Control and harvesters' own measuring devices.

Harvester grapple saw device

​The most important component of the grapple is the saw device. The saw device is designed for intense everyday use, and it is used in harvester grapples. The saw unit uses a heavy-duty 20 cc Buscher saw motor with direct drive. Hydraulic chain tensioning ensures that the chain stays in place.
​
The saw case is angled, so felling is smooth and safe. The saw bar does not hit the ground as easily as with a straight saw case.
