REPLACEABLE GRIPPING PLATESThe bolt-mounted gripping plates with easy replaceability are the most significant upgrade to Flex rollers!
Flex rollers’ gripping plates have been updated to bolt-mounted, making replacement quick and effortless. If a pin or spikes wears out, simply remove the bolts and replace the gripping plates with new ones – easy, fast, and efficient! Previously, worn spikes made changing the gripping plates difficult and time-consuming – the side plates welds had to be ground or machined off. This upgrade not only saves time and effort but also increases roller durability and reliability. Flex rollers stay efficient longer, maintenance is effortless, and operations remain smooth. |
Improved Lifetime
|
The new Flex rollers’ holding plates are slightly bent, which reduces the plate’s movement. The plate now moves 17 % less than before, reducing wear and stress.
The bolt head acts as an axle and provides 20 % more bearing surface than before, and the bolt is now fully hardened, whereas previously the axle was only surface-hardened. Thanks to the reduced movement and increased bearing surface, Flex rollers last longer, even in the most demanding conditions, ensuring reliable performance over time. |
Even smaller spike marks
On Flex rollers, the deepest spike marks occur when the grip shifts from one gripping plate to the next as the roller rotates. The bent gripping plate reduces roller vibrations and ensures smoother rotation. Impacts when the plate contacts the wood are smaller, producing clearly smaller spike marks than before.

IMPROVED ROLLER DESIGN
The roller’s outer edge is crucial, especially in four-wheel feed heads: it helps feed small trees accurately and prevents large trees from slipping out of the head.
Previously, the side plate spikes were significantly lower than the gripping plate spikes. In the updated rollers, the side plate spike is now raised to the same level as the gripping plate spikes, providing up to 30 % more effective gripping surface in narrow rollers. The new design improves feeding of small trees and prevents rollers from slipping on large trees, making the feeding process smoother and more efficient. |
